Freelance Designer in Cambridge
A decade of design across agency, studio, and in-house.
I’m a brand and digital designer with over ten years of experience across freelance, studio, and in-house work. I have a proven track record of delivering successful creative at all scales; from independent business launches to enterprise-scale platforms serving millions of users.
I co-founded and directed Hay & Rice from 2017 to 2022, operating as senior designer and lead creative. During that time, we delivered more than 70 projects across brand identity, web design, UX, print, and ongoing consultancy. Since then I’ve worked in-house at Redgate Software, a Cambridge-based SaaS company, as a Digital Designer within the brand team, covering brand systems, UX platforms, campaigns, employer branding, and environmental design across nearly three years.
I’m currently taking on new projects and open to the right permanent opportunity. If you have something in mind, I’m happy to have a conversation.

Web & UX Design
Platforms designed around user need, and purpose. I’ve led UX-led projects from discovery through to launch and ongoing iteration, including a full overhaul of a publishing platform reaching millions of annual readers, and a four-year web design partnership with one of the UK’s largest chambers of commerce. From research and benchmarking to information architecture, interface design, and performance optimisation.
Graphic and Brand Design
Brand identity, campaigns, and marketing assets built to hold together across channels and contexts. Over ten years and 100+ projects across freelance and in-house work, including three and a half years building and maintaining the brand infrastructure for a global SaaS company. From initial identity and guidelines through to event campaigns, print, and employer branding.
Design Systems
The infrastructure that makes design consistent and scalable. Component libraries, Figma design systems, templates, and the processes that remove bottlenecks and facilitate both delivery and growth. I’ve co-authored enterprise-level systems used across multiple sub-brands and international teams, including a full UX framework, brand guidelines, and templating systems.

Let’s get started
I work comfortably across permanent hybrid roles, contract engagements, and retained freelance collaborations.
I’m used to shaping briefs, working closely with developers and marketing teams, and taking ownership of platforms beyond launch. If you’re refining something already in motion, or building something new, I’m happy to start with a conversation.
